I love to bake. When I feel like being creative, I will go to the kitchen. I love all the old Eastern European recipes I have from my mother. (My parents were Slovakian and Ukraine. Growing up my grandmother, who lived with us, only spoke Ukrainian. My husband comes from a Slovak family.) Cherries are in season in Tucson. So I have been buying cherries. Today, I am making cherry bread. I have a Leifheit Cherry Pitter. I love it! It is so fast. In the picture above, I pitted all those cherries in less than five minutes. (large baking sheet full of cherries). The other nice thing is that my hands stayed clean.
