The Tucson Folk Festival occurs one block from where we live. The festival is two days of free music on five different stages. In addition to music, there are free lectures, areas where you can view instruments, and areas where you can try your luck at playing your music.  The first act we saw was the Arizona Balalaika Orchestra which plays Russian instruments and sings Russian songs. It just so happens that my major at American University was Russian.  Some of the music was Ukrainian which my family spoke at home when I was growing up. Last Fall, I visited both Russia and the Ukraine.  For Christmas, I received the White Russian Bead book (in Russian by M. IA Anufrieva,).
